Johannes Loutsch

Whether I’m producing a million dollar ad campaign for half, taking a kernel of an idea to fruition in a digital form or building something entirely new from the pieces within my reach, solving problems creatively is what I enjoy doing. As a highly passionate yet rational professional, one with a prolific imagination who’s always loved making things and telling stories, it’s been the perfect path. A path I’ve always navigated with a simple approach.

Watch with empathy, listen closely, find the insight. Write, design, pitch and produce – then deliver above and beyond the expectation. Travel, play, sleep and dream, and then get up and do it again. And for many years I’ve done just that.

I’ve successfully held high-profile posts as a writer, Creative Director and Executive Producer. I’ve created notable digital and traditional campaigns for many global clients, as well as branded content, interactive games, pilots, series and specials for a wide variety of other enterprises. Along the way, I’ve had the good fortune to have managed and inspired large groups of people to achieve remarkable creative accomplishments.

Although examples of my work are displayed on this site, it cannot totally convey the personal, intangible qualities essential to an individual’s success on its own. Those attributes can best be appreciated in a conversation and since nearly all good things begin with a discussion – I look forward to speaking with you soon.

How Training Videos Can Supercharge Your Team2024-07-30T20:11:29+00:00

Training videos are a powerful tool for boosting team productivity and enhancing the quality of workmanship. By watching and implementing what they learn from training videos, staff can acquire new skills and work more efficiently.

These videos also contribute to building a team of high performers by freeing up managers to focus on other value-added activities. Training videos handle much of the instructional work, allowing managers to allocate their time more effectively.

Creating a comprehensive training video library is a strategic investment for any company. This resource continuously supports overall growth and development, making it a valuable asset for long-term success.

Attract and Retain Great Talent2024-07-30T20:09:56+00:00

Recruitment Videos: Attract Top Talent and Retain Valuable Employees

Recruitment videos are essential tools for attracting top talent and retaining your most valuable employees. The key to a successful recruitment strategy is building a strong employee-employer relationship based on trust and mutual value.

Why Create Recruitment Videos?

Recruitment videos serve to clearly communicate why potential employees should consider working for your company. By mapping out key messaging about your company’s unique benefits and culture, these ideas can be translated into engaging short videos that reach potential candidates.

Leverage Employee Testimonials

One of the most effective ways to convey your company’s value is through employee testimonials. Interviewing current employees and allowing them to share their personal stories and experiences offers an authentic perspective on why they joined and continue to work at your company. These testimonials act as powerful endorsements of your brand, much like customer reviews.

Key Topics for Recruitment Videos

  1. Employee Experiences: Showcase why current employees love working at your company.
  2. Benefits and Perks: Highlight the unique benefits and perks your company offers.
  3. Community Involvement: Demonstrate your company’s commitment to giving back and making a difference.
  4. Onboarding Process: Explain how new hires are welcomed and integrated into the team.
  5. Ideal Candidates: Describe the qualities and skills your company looks for in potential hires.
  6. Company Culture: Provide insights into the work environment and company values.
  7. Mission, Vision, and Values: Share your company’s core mission and vision.
  8. CEO Welcome: Include a welcome message from the CEO to convey leadership’s commitment.
  9. Day-to-Day Life: Use DIY footage from employees to give a glimpse into daily life at your company.

Build Your Evergreen Recruitment Content Library

There are endless possibilities for recruitment videos. Start building your evergreen library of video content to continuously attract and engage top talent.

Empower Company Culture2024-07-30T20:09:56+00:00

The Importance of Company Culture and Internal Communication Videos

A strong and healthy company culture is essential for business success, and it’s crucial that employees understand and embrace this culture. Effective internal communication ensures that everyone in the company is aligned with the brand’s core vision and goals.

Why Use Internal Communication Videos?

Internal communication videos are a powerful tool for conveying important messages and ensuring all employees are on the same page. They help reinforce the company’s mission, vision, and values, and can boost employee morale and pride in the organization.

Aligning Your Team with the Company’s Vision

Imagine your company as a boat sailing toward a specific port, which represents your business goals. Just like a boat needs to navigate challenges and stay on course, your company must remain focused on its objectives despite potential setbacks. Internal communication videos can help clarify the company’s vision and keep the team aligned with its goals.

Benefits of Internal Communication Videos

  1. Clear Communication: Videos can effectively communicate complex ideas and strategies, making them easier for employees to understand.
  2. Employee Engagement: Engaging video content can increase employee involvement and commitment to the company’s mission.
  3. Consistency: Videos provide a consistent message, ensuring that all employees receive the same information.

Investing in internal communication videos is a smart strategy to ensure your team understands and supports the company’s direction. This alignment can lead to better decision-making, improved performance, and a stronger company culture.

Simplify It for Your Audience2024-07-30T20:09:56+00:00

Video is an excellent tool for simplifying complex ideas. At Mongoose Films, we carefully script each word to ensure clear and effective communication, making it easier to explain concepts that might otherwise be challenging to understand.

Interview-style videos can be incredibly impactful, especially when the right individuals are featured. We select interviewees who can distill complex ideas into accessible language, and our skilled producers know how to elicit the best performance from them.

By combining powerful dialogue with engaging visuals, we bring concepts to life in a straightforward and comprehensible manner. Animated explainer videos are particularly effective for this purpose. Think of it as a synergy where the narration tells the story and the visual B-roll illustrates it—creating a result that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Close More Sales2024-07-30T20:09:56+00:00

Sales videos are a powerful tool used daily to help sales teams close more business. One of the best aspects of a sales video is its ability to convey important information to prospects quickly and effectively.

Sales videos can vary in length depending on their purpose and the channels used. For instance, a short sales video (1-2 minutes) can be sent before an initial sales call to educate the client about your offerings. By asking if they’ve watched the video, you can streamline the conversation and move forward more efficiently, saving valuable time.

Another example is a longer sales video, such as a webinar or sales video letter (SVL), lasting around 30 minutes. With well-structured content, you can keep viewers engaged while sharing detailed insights about your product or service. Ending with a special offer can help convert viewers into customers.

Additionally, consider using live sales demos featuring real client reactions. If meeting in person isn’t possible, sharing a video of a live demo can provide a compelling alternative, potentially closing deals that might otherwise be missed.

The possibilities for sales videos are endless. Remember, marketing videos play a crucial role too. While marketing videos capture attention and inspire viewers, sales videos are designed to close the deal with compelling calls to action. Together, they form a cohesive strategy to drive success.

Attract More Leads2024-07-30T20:09:57+00:00

At Mongoose Films, we craft brand awareness videos that captivate and engage, drawing in a broader audience to enhance your brand’s reach. These videos are designed to build a connection, helping viewers get to know, like, and trust your brand over time. By consistently sharing compelling content, we aim to foster long-term relationships with your audience.

Brand awareness videos can take many forms, such as:

  • Educational Content: Share industry insights and knowledge.
  • About Us Videos: Showcase your company’s story and values.
  • Company History: Highlight the journey and milestones of your brand.
  • Celebrating Milestones or Anniversaries: Mark significant achievements.
  • Explaining Processes: Detail how your services or products work.
  • Pricing Information: Provide transparency and clarity.
  • Mission Statements: Reinforce your company’s purpose and goals.

The possibilities are endless, and these videos are not meant to close deals immediately but to guide your audience along your sales funnel. It’s all about timing and consistency, so we recommend regularly releasing brand awareness content throughout the year to keep your audience engaged and informed.

What makes Mongoose Films the best choice for your Marketing and Video needs?2024-07-31T16:00:39+00:00

What Makes Mongoose Films Stand Out?

Exceptional Efficiency

Mongoose Films, established in Detroit, Michigan, began with a focus on live event video production. Since our inception, we’ve expanded to include corporate video production and non-profit video production. Our roots in live events have honed our ability to tell compelling stories efficiently and adapt quickly. This experience allows us to produce high-quality videos with smaller crews, ultimately saving our clients both time and money on video production services.

Authentic Storytelling

At Mongoose Films, our signature video production style is the interview style, also known as unscripted videos. This approach showcases interviewees as genuine and trustworthy, offering a conversational style that can effectively persuade viewers, much like a documentary.

Interview videos are an excellent way to provide valuable information, tell engaging stories, and present various perspectives on specific topics. This style is widely used in documentaries on platforms like Netflix, demonstrating its powerful impact.

Filmmakers and Marketers

When you work with Mongoose Films, you’re not just partnering with a video production company; you’re engaging with seasoned storytellers who think like both marketers and filmmakers. We focus on aligning with the purpose and goals of each client video, guiding you through the best options to create impactful, long-lasting video assets. Our goal is to tailor our approach to fit your working style and project requirements.

What is the Process of Working with Mongoose Films?2024-07-31T15:58:51+00:00

Our Simple and Effective Video Production Process at Mongoose Films

At Mongoose Films, we streamline the video production process to ensure exceptional results. Here’s how we guide you through every stage:

1. Discovery Call

Our initial discovery call is where we explore your video goals and assess if we’re the right fit for your project. This call is typically followed by a scoping call to evaluate specific details and provide a preliminary cost estimate.

2. Purpose of Video

Defining the purpose of your video is crucial for success. Instead of creating a multipurpose video, focusing on a specific goal helps achieve better outcomes. Consider producing several shorter videos with targeted messages rather than one long video.

3. Style of Video

Selecting the right video style is key. We offer various styles such as scripted videos, interview-style videos, and animated videos. We’ll guide you through each style’s benefits and drawbacks to find the best match for your needs.

4. Messaging

Crafting effective messaging is at the core of every successful video. Too much information can overwhelm viewers, while too little can reduce credibility. We help you find the perfect balance by envisioning the finished video and identifying key takeaways.

5. Proposal

Creating an accurate proposal involves understanding factors like:

  • Crew Size
  • Time and Scheduling
  • Locations
  • People Involved
  • Type of Footage
  • Client Availability
  • Production Quality

After gathering details during the discovery and scoping calls, we provide a detailed proposal or several pricing options tailored to your needs.

6. Timeline

We establish a clear timeline for your video project, including key deadlines and the schedule for each production phase. Our timeline includes real-life gaps to ensure everything stays on track and within schedule.

7. Production + Delivery

Once everything is planned, we proceed with:

  • Pre-Production (Planning): Organizing all aspects of the project.
  • Production (Filming): Capturing high-quality footage.
  • Post-Production (Editing): Editing and refining the video.
  • Revisions (Client Review): Making adjustments based on your feedback.
  • Final Delivery: Delivering the completed video ready for use.

At Mongoose Films, our goal is to deliver high-quality, impactful videos that meet your objectives and exceed your expectations.

How to Choose the Best Video Production Company in Michigan2024-07-31T15:55:12+00:00

How to Choose the Best Video Production Company in Detroit, Cleveland, Atlanta, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Michigan, and Ohio

Selecting the best video production company can be subjective, but there are steps you can take to find a great match. Start by Googling search terms like:

  • Top video production companies in Detroit, Michigan
  • Best video production companies in Ann Arbor, Michigan
  • #1 video production companies in Cleveland, Ohio

Types of Listings to Consider

  1. Sponsored Listings: The top results often have “Sponsored” above them, indicating paid advertising. These listings don’t necessarily reflect the quality of the companies.
  2. Local Map Listings: These show video production companies based on your specified location. While useful for finding local services, they don’t always indicate quality.
  3. Organic Listings: These are based on Google’s assessment of relevance and quality. However, some directories may rank highly due to paid listings rather than merit.

Evaluating Companies

After gathering a list of potential companies, consider the following:

  • Google Reviews and Testimonials: Check out reviews and ratings to gauge customer satisfaction.
  • Client List: A diverse client list can indicate experience and credibility.
  • Portfolio: Look at examples of their work on their website, YouTube, or Vimeo.
  • Process and Pricing: Ensure the company has a transparent process and clear pricing structure.

Making Contact

Once you’ve shortlisted your top picks, schedule an in-person meeting or video conference call. This personal interaction helps assess the company’s professionalism and understand if they’re a good fit for your project. Avoid relying solely on email communication for final decisions.

These tips will help you find the best video production companies in Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and surrounding areas, ensuring you get high-quality video content tailored to your needs.

How Much Does Video Production Cost?2024-07-31T15:51:23+00:00

How Much Does Video Production Cost?

Video production costs can vary widely, ranging from hundreds to hundreds of thousands of dollars. At Mongoose Films, the primary factors influencing pricing are the size of the crew and the number of hours they work.

Understanding Video Production Costs

Video production is divided into three stages: Pre-Production, Production, and Post-Production. Each stage has specific costs associated with it.

2024 Pricing Formula:

  • Pre-Production: $175/hr
  • Production: $2,300 to $10,000/day
  • Post-Production: $175/hr

During a scoping call, we gather the necessary information to determine the time and crew size required for your project. This allows us to provide accurate pricing using our formula.

Pre-Production

Pre-production involves all planning activities before filming or editing. This includes strategic meetings to identify key messages, logistics like the number of people being filmed, locations, timing, and more. Proper planning is crucial for achieving the best quality and pricing. Skipping pre-production can lead to higher costs during filming and editing.

Production

Production is the actual filming process. It includes considerations like camera equipment, shot composition, lighting, audio, talent, and setup and breakdown time. A well-prepared production team ensures high-quality results. Our founder, Adam Forgione, is an expert interviewer with over 25 years of experience, helping us capture authentic and engaging moments.

Post-Production

Post-production primarily involves video editing but may also include audio sweetening, color correction, sound design, motion graphics, and more. This stage is where we bring your videos to life, ensuring they meet your vision and expectations.

At Mongoose Films, we are dedicated to providing high-quality video production services that align with your goals and budget. Contact us to learn more about our pricing and how we can bring your project to life.
